The moment the X-Men arrive in Japan for Wolverine's wedding, a fight breaks out between Yukio and the Silver Samurai! The X-Men set out to see what the fuss is all about.

The X-Men have been invited to Mariko Yashida’s home in preparation for her wedding to Wolverine. He happily welcomes his teammates but is shocked and angered to learn that Rogue is now an X-Man. They are being spied upon by the Silver Samurai who, in turn, is attacked by Yukio, a newly found friend of Wolverine’s. Hearing the commotion, the X-Men hurry to help. The Samurai escapes and the X-Men discuss what the reason for this attack was – probably Clan Yashida’s ties to the underworld, which Mariko’s late father, Shingen, forged, Wolverine assumes. The X-Men are unaware that the household has been infiltrated by the Samurai’s partner, Viper, who manages to poison all the X-Men, save for Storm. Mariko, in the meantime, has received a message from the Samurai and secretly leaves to meet him, unaware that her chauffeur is Yukio. The two women trade places and Yukio goes to meet the Samurai (Mariko’s half-brother, who demands leadership of the clan), Viper and Nabatone, a Japanese crimelord. Yukio’s cover is quickly blown and a fight breaks out. As Viper runs to the limousine to kill Mariko, she is expected by Storm, whom Yukio called. Storm tries to stop the Samurai but finds her powers going out of control, almost killing her until Yukio propels them both into the water. The two injured women flee, while the Samurai threatens them. Back at the hospital, Wolverine plans to take out the Samurai and Rogue, who was less affected, thanks to her half-alien metabolism, and insists on accompanying him. Meanwhile, in Alaska, Cyclops rifles through Madelyne Pryor’s files, trying to find out what her connection to Phoenix is. His brother, Alex, asks him to stop doing this to himself - all those similarities are just coincidence, but still Scott doubts.

Wolverine and Rogue crack some Yakuza skulls in a Ginza District bar. Their goal: to pick up the trail that will lead them to the Silver Samurai and Viper!

Wolverine and Rogue mix it up with the Yakuza in Tokyoís Ginza district, until they get the information that leads them to the crimelord Nabatone, who in turn is supposed to lead them to Viper and the Silver Samurai. They infiltrate Nabatone's estate - with Rogue being horribly cocky and find Nabatone dead. He has been for over a week. The man who arranged the meeting between Mariko and the Silver Samurai was an impostor and, while they've been wasting time here, their foes might be attacking the hospital where Mariko and the poisoned X-Men are. The fears are correct: Viper and a team of ninja assassins are attacking the hospital and dispatching of the agents posted there. Rogue flies in, grabs Viper and the Ninja and tosses them out of the building. Wolverine, in the meantime, challenges the Samurai and wins their brutal battle. As he intends to kill him, Mariko asks him to spare her half-brother. They are joined by an armed Viper, who demands they let the Samurai go. The Samurai faints, Wolverine and Mariko make a run for it and, before the gun's energy ray can hit them, Rogue throws herself into the ray's path, suffering severe injuries. After the gun overloads, Viper teleports herself and the Samurai away. Wolverine lets Rogue absorb his powers to save her life. In the meantime, Yukio and Storm battled some muggers and Storm, inspired by Yukio, starts to revel in her emotions, even her darker ones, instead of suppressing them, One week later, at the Yashida's ancestral seat, Mariko, preparing for the wedding, is visited by Mastermind, who influences her in some way. At the wedding reception, the X-Men meet Cyclops' girlfriend, Madelyne Pryor, for the first time and are shocked by her similarity to Jean Grey. Also, Storm returns, changed in a startling manner. She has gone punk, much to Kitty's horror. As the wedding ceremony is to start, Mariko breaks it off in front of everybody, insulting Wolverine as unworthy.

Fun Fact: There have been a lot of homage covers to this cover, as seen in X-Men Classic issue 77 and Rogue issue 9 among others.

Meanwhile, Kitty Pryde spends time with her friend Doug Ramsey, confiding her worries about Storm’s transformation. Doug invites her to visit the Massachusetts Academy with him. Kitty worries about joining him because The Hellfire Club runs the Academy. Back at Xavier’s, Colossus feels troubled by Kitty’s growing closeness to Doug, which highlights the differences between him and Kitty.

That evening, Kitty informs Xavier and the X-Men that she plans to accompany Doug. Since Emma Frost remains in a coma and Xavier can monitor her telepathically, they agree that Kitty should be safe. Before she leaves, Storm takes Kitty on a flight high above the mansion for a long-overdue heart-to-heart. Storm explains that, while they are friends, it was wrong for either of them to assume she could replace Kitty’s mother. Now that she has regained her emotions, Storm asks Kitty to accept her as she is. The two reconcile.

Later, the X-Men see Kitty off at the airport, where she and Doug board the Academy’s private jet, only to be greeted by a fully recovered Emma Frost. Kitty’s telepathic scream for help goes unheard, as Professor X has determined the probing force is coming from Central Park and takes the team to investigate. They find a massive structure has appeared. When they enter it, they vanish from Earth.

The X-Men would return from the Secret Wars doing battle in a world called "Battle World" created by the Beyonder. They wouldn't be sent to their home but Tokyo, Japan instead and they didn't come alone. Cyclops was send back to Tahiti, where he was in honeymoon with Madelyne Pryor before the Secret Wars. While in Battle World Lockheed, Kitty Pryde's pet dragon, would befriend and get involved with another dragon similar in size as he. She would follow the X-Men and once on Earth her body would react strangely. She grew to monstrous proportions and in a fit of rage began destroying and razing the city. Sunfire, a one time X-Men, would also help in the conflict. The X-Men would split their efforts; Professor Xavier send Rogue flying back to USA to learn about Kitty, Douglas and the New Mutants. Some would do battle with the she-dragon while the other would try and help the citizens of Tokyo and evacuate the destroyed home. Wolverine would happen upon a house that almost entirely ravaged and on fire. Once he enters he finds a lady mortally wounded under a pile of debris from the collapsed ceiling of her home. He would try to help her as best as he could but realized that there was no saving her. Instead, she made him promise to take her daughter, Akiko, who was there and to take care of her and raise her as she no longer could. Feeling slightly guilty for the dragon's attacks as she came with the X-Men Wolverine would accept. He would take the burden of honor and promise to fulfill the dieing woman wish and took the young Akiko with him. Shortly after the dragon would also be stopped by none other then Lockheed and the X-Men were free to return to America. In the end we see Senator Robert Kelly trying to convince another Senator about the needs of the Mutant Registration Act.

Kulan Gath's "Master Spell" has turned New York into a fantasy city. The Avengers become a troupe of warriors and the X-Men become outlaws, given magic powers for unknown reasons. The only ones who remain normal are Spider-Man and Warlock (see the old Marvel Team Up for why; KG has a big hate for the "Man-Spider" since he foiled the last attempt to free himself). The Morlocks work for KG, and try to hunt down Storm, whose boat hadn't left yet. Dr. Strange is helpless, and Xavier and Caliban are merged to find mutants to serve KG. The New Mutants (except for Warlock) are transformed into servants of KG. Selene finds Amara and Rachel and starts to arrange heroes to overthrow KG. She starts with Storm and Callisto, who tumbled outside the spell. The two return to the city, with Selene modifying the spell so they will remain rebels against KG. Spider-Man and Illyana (who's forgotten her powers) are attacked by the New Mutants. Spider-Man is caught, but the Avengers and X-Men save Illyana. At the end Captain America organizes them into the Avengers.

Thunderbird has kidnapped Banshee and sent a message to the X-Men: if they do not find their former teammate within 24 hours, Thunderbird will kill him!

At Muir Island, Sean Cassidy jogs alone early in the mourning, feeling happy because of last weeks events. Suddenly Warpath appears and kicks him at the face, and after a fast fight, knocks him down. Before passing out, Banshee looks up and sees his old colleague Thunderbird, killed in action during a X-Men mission.

In New York, Xavier wakes up at Callisto's place, inside Morlock's tunnels. Xavier was beaten up by a bunch of extremists last issue who discovered he was a mutant, and Callisto saved him unconscious and the Healer had used his powers to save him. Callisto dressed Xavier with one of Morlock's clothes and explain to him all about human that hate mutants and that this kind of battle will continuously occur, that's why the Morlocks hide themselves. Callisto then tells Xavier that Ororo still is the leader of Morlocks, even without powers, because she had won their battle. Then Sunder appears with some Morlocks holding three kids in their arms, saying that the humans had killed them just because they are mutants, children of Annalee. Because of that Callisto start to shout at Xavier saying that if the humans want a war, they will have it!

In Rocky Mountains, Warpath is at the place where his brother Thunderbird died, back in X-Men #95 in that battle versus Count Nefaria. Warpath talks to his dead brother about how he will kill Xavier, Banshee and the X-Men because they let him dye. Then his Hellions' teammates Roulette and Empath arrive at the scene saying they will help him defeat the X-Men, but Warpath doesn't want any help. Firestar flies towards then and Empath makes her kiss him with his powers, and then demands her to help him defeat the X-Men.

At Xavier's School the X-Men Rogue, Colossus, Nightcrawler, Wolverine and Kitty are training Cannonball in Danger Room, playing tag with the New Mutant. Colossus punches Cannonball when he is flying over him, and because of that Kitty shout at him that now Colossus is on Cannonball's side of the game, and Wolverine says that if it was a battle it could cost someone life. When they are talking Cannonball tries to catch them from behind, but Nightcrawler vanishes and Kitty becomes untouchable and then Cannonball hits Colossus again. Doug Ramsey and Rachel are at Danger Room's controls and change the game, putting everyone in Lila Cheney's planet with her and the warrior Vrakanin. In their battle Cannonball saves Wolverine and Rogue from a fall and when he is celebrating, Callisto and Xavier enter the room. Everyone make fun of Xavier's new clothes.

In a ship at Atlantic Ocean, Storm is shipping back to Africa after loosing her powers, remembering her past as a goddess and as a X-Man, when she suddenly sees her mother spirit.

Back to the school, Xavier is having a bath shower, very tired and injured after last day's problems. Nightcrawler calls him saying they have problems again, and when he goes to video room, they all watch Warpath talking that Banshee is his captive and he will kill him in 24 hours, unless the X-Men come to Cheyenne Mount. Nightcrawler says Moira confirms that Banshee is missing and then the X-Men decide to go after him, even if that starts a fight against the government, because Cheyenne Mount is the base of NORAD. That Mount is the same place where Thunderbird died.

At NORAD's base, Kitty Pryde enters using her power and every X-Men is talking to each other using Rachel's powers, because Xavier is too weak. Using Rachel's coordinates Nightcrawler teleports himself inside the base and then get everyone else, leaving Xavier and Lockheed at the X-Jet - Blackbird. Roulette uses her powers to overpowers Blackbird'd systems and then Empath enters the jet and starts a mental battle with Xavier. Even injured Xavier is about to defeat him, but Roulette shows up and uses some gas to knock out Xavier. Rachel senses Xavier's pain and Kitty goes there to see what had happened just to see Xavier knocked out and Blackbird's systems destroyed.

Nightcrawler asks Rachel to find Banshee with her powers, but that causes Rachel to remember about her past as a tracker in her reality and then she has black out. Then Wolverine uses his senses to find Banshee with Kitty taking him through the walls. Nightcrawler leaves Rogue to take care of Professor and he is very upset about he's being a terrible leader.

Inside NORAD's war room a excursion is walking through with Empath, Roulette and Firestar among them. Roulette again uses her power in the sensors and the X-Men are detected by the army, causing a huge mess.

Kitty and Wolverine find Banshee arrested in a room and when she is about to release him, Warpath shows up and kicks Wolverine. They fight while Kitty takes Banshee out, but a strange gas is entering the room and make Kitty pass out. This distract Wolverine and then Warpath punches his face, almost knocking him out. The gas is so strong that Wolverine also passes out. Warpath has the antidote with him but he couldn't let Wolverine and Kitty behind to die with the gas. He was not trained to that, and is not happy even after defeating two of the X-Men he sworn to kill. Then he decides that he will only kill Xavier.

In another place at the base, defense robots are attacking Colossus and Nightcrawler, who disappear to get Rogue to help them. The robots then capture Nightcrawler but Rogue throws Colossus (Fastball Special) towards them and the big guy destroy the robots.

Rogue tries to awaken Rachel from her nightmare state, but she won't listen. Suddenly Firestar flies of their heads, enters the room and attacks Colossus sending him to outside the mountain. Empath is using his powers to demand the Captain of NORAD to kill his prisoners, but listening to that order, Nightcrawler escapes again and restart the fight. At air outside, Colossus doesn't want to hurt Firestar and decides to talk to her, explaining everything since Banshee's kidnapping by Warpath. Then Firestar realizes Empath had lied to her, but she doesn't want to be alone again and decides to believe in Empath. Rogue finds them both and with a single punch knock them out and bring them down. Rogue absorb some of Firestar memories and also realizes what Empath had been doing to her emotions.

Back at war room, Nightcrawler is still fighting the robot guards and Empath is looking, when Warpath arrives saying Empath had blown everything over. Kitty takes grabs Empath through the ground and Wolverine makes him pass out by just showing him his claws. Then Nightcrawler also arrests Roulette and Kitty tries to grab Warpath, but he is faster then her moves.

Wolverine lights up a cigar and talks to Kitty about how nice was Thunderbird and that they were much alike, and he doesn't know why Warpath becomes so angry. Suddenly the guards enter the room and arrest them both.

Rachel wakes up but doesn't want to tell Colossus or Rogue what had happened to her. Rogue ask her again to seek for Logan and Kitty but again Rachel screams NO. Rogue says she will take Rachel's power and seek for herself but Nightcrawler shows up and says he will get the others. Rachel then lead him with her power. Rogue flies away to see the Professor.

At the X-Jet, Warpath shows Xavier the knife of his older brother Thunderbird. Xavier is weaken but can see that Warpath is holding himself to the idea of killing him. Xavier then decides to confront Warpath with some truths about his brother and what really happened, that Thunderbird was in a mission with the X-Men and that he joined them by his own will. Xavier says he would have died in his place if he could. Warpath doesn't believe in his words and then Xavier says to kill him then. He raises his knife but couldn't kill Xavier. Warpath cries out how he had failed as an Apache and as a man, and how he is a coward, to what Xavier denies and says he is a true man just because what he had done.

Later at Xavier's School, Xavier invites both Warpath and Firestar to join the X-Men. Warpath says he wants to go back to Massachusetts Academy because there he has friends, not Empath and Roulette, but true ones, and it is time for him to find his own pass without following his brother's past. Firestar also decides to go back, because Emma Frost had always been so nice to her that she wouldn't want to leave her, even after what Empath did to her.

Xavier wishes good luck to them and says everyone deserves a second chance, even Roulette and Empath, who are sedated upstairs.

The authorities are looking for the X-Men because what happened.

Introducing Firestar the newest mutant to the X-Men, but will she join?

This is the 100th issue since the New X-Men members.

When the Power Pack's parents have their minds erased, Kitty Pryde gathers the X-Men together to set things right for the super-powered siblings!

* Crossover with Power Pack #12*

The four super-powered siblings of Power Pack- Alex, Julie, Jack and Katie- awake in the middle of the night to discover that their parents don't know who they are. Not only that, but their belongings, down to their favorite breakfast cereals, have been removed from their apartment.

The kids flee the apartment and descend into the sewers, where they are apprehended by the Morlocks. The Morlocks previously attempted to kidnap Power Pack so they could be adopted by AnnaLee, a mutant who recently lost her own children; they're not giving up.

Only five-year-old Katie is able to escape from the Morlocks, although her face is horribly deformed by Masque. She runs into the subway tunnels, where she is frightened by a passing train. A police officer discovers her, but since she is scared and unable to see in the dark, she hits him with a power ball. Katie is subdued and brought to Bellevue Hospital. She refuses to speak or identify herself.

The next morning, Kitty Pryde sees Katie's photo on the news. She assembles a small team of X-Men - Wolverine, Rachel, and Rogue - to rescue Katie from the hospital, and gives Katie a special jacket to make her an honorary X-Man.

The X-Men and Katie enter the Morlocks' territory. They discover that the Power siblings' rooms have been reassembled in the sewers, and that the other three children have been disfigured by Masque and have had their memories erased by the Morlock, Beautiful Drreamer. They now believe that the empath Morlock AnnaLee is their mother, and they immediately attack the X-Men. In the midst of the battle, Julie grabs Katie and takes her to have her memories erased. Kitty Pryde follows and attempts to reason with AnnaLee to let Katie go, to no avail.

Callisto finally appears and orders the Morlocks to release Power Pack, restore their memories and faces, and put everything right at home. She admonishes the Morlocks to consider Power Pack to be completely off-limits, like the X-Men, and threatens AnnaLee with death in the ring if she disobeys.

A depowered Storm falls victim to elements. In her delirium, she is visited by her teammates. Will she find the strength necessary to live or will she give up and die?!

After Losing her powers, storm traveled to south Africa in search of herself. In her travels she came across a wrecked bus, where she met a young woman by the name of Shani who is with child and near death. Storm saves Shani from the wreckage and the two venture out to get her to her destination, of the Shani Tribe. The road to the Shani tribe is long, and when they finally make it they are extremely fatigued. Storm collapsed due to exhaustion. when she is awakened by the elder, and leader of the tribe, MjNari, he explained to her that Shani had gone into labor but her baby would not come. Storm rushed to Shani's side and helps her deliver the child, but it is yet still born. Storm did all she could to revives, and succeeded.

MjNari congratulated them, and began to make his way outside where the music of celebration had changed to a music of mourning. Storms followed after MjNari and asked him where he was going, and he replied saying "I think you know."

It was the Shani peoples tradition that when a new life came into the world, the very old would make room for the very young. Storm followed him to the outskirts of the village while he explained to her the history of their people.

Initially they lived off the land, and life was hard. Then when they got the technology to better support their people they grew arrogant, and proud. eventually no matter how much fertilizer was used, the ground would not produce, they could not afford the fuel to power their machines. Many Died.

MjNari being the elder found the balance that only a set number of people could survive with what their tribe had to offer in food, and land, so when a new life was born the elderly would sacrifice themselves. Storm tried to talk him out of it, but he tlls her that it is the only way. Storm stayed with him till her died and gave him a proper barial.

"And yet though he is gone, I still hear his voice. -'Somewhere on these plains it is said, countless ages ago, the human race began. Now two great cultures crash headlong into each other. The very old against the very new. The one must give way for the other for that is natures way. But at the same time it's wisdom and experience must teach lest youth and immaturity bring about unwitting catastrophe. Technology is not inherently bad, merely the careless and stupid use of it. Neither tradition is wholly good, if it blinds us to ways of making our lives better and happier. A bridge needed between these two halves, a synthesis, a blend, a person who is both one and the other, who’s mind comprehends and who’s hands command the machines, yet who's eyes and soul look upon them with the wisdom of the ages." - MjNari

Storm then realized then that he was talking about her. She returned to the Shani people, and becomes the godmother of Shani's son, and named him MjNari in Honor of her friends.
